Researchers from the economic and psychology department of Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada found out that people with tattoo are more impulsive and short-sighted.
It is estimated that one in every five adults in the United States has at least one tattoo. In an impulsive test rolled out by the team through the Amazon Mechanical Turk job marketplace, they found out that those with a tattoo, regardless of gender are more impulsive.
Participants of their study were asked questions related to receiving money now or later. Those who will take the money immediately will receive $1, while those who agree to get the payment delayed by three weeks will get up to $2.50.
A distinct pattern emerged among those individuals with tattoos choosing to receive the money immediately, despite the gradual increase in pay-out.
Participants were also asked questions related to other aspects of their lives like the way they share their personal information, smoking, and even on their retirement savings. Results showed the same pattern over and over again.
