When Andrew Soldan was just 15 years old, his father died because of a rare heart condition.
To keep his father’s memory alive, Andrew, who is now 18 years old got a tattoo.
He shared a photo on Reddit showing a sound-wave tattoo. He captioned the snap, “For my 18th birthday, I got a tattoo of my dads laugh on my arm, he passed away three years ago. I have his smile and joy wherever I go now.”
In an interview with Popsugar, Andrew explained that the tattoo was his idea and that he was inspired by his uncle who initially thought of framing the sound wave.
His tattoo cannot be read by smartphone apps unlike traditional sound-wave tattoos, but he doesn’t mind at all.
For Andrew, the tattoo is a symbol of love for his father. “There are many things I would love to tell my dad . . . but mostly what I would tell him is that I love him, because I didn’t get to the night before he passed.”
